PREREQUISITES
IT Fundamentals, or equivalent technical experience
COURSE DESCRIPTION
A+ Certification Training students will acquire knowledge through use of online software and hands-on labs, of basic computer hardware and operating systems, covering such skills as installation, upgrading, configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing, diagnosing and preventative maintenance. Students will also gain knowledge of additional elements such as networking and server issues, communication, and professionalism. A+ Certification Training is designed as a class that will help students prepare for taking the CompITA A+ Certification Exam. Certification validates the latest skills needed by today’s computer support professionals and are essential in obtaining entry-level IT careers.
NOTES
- Orientation and meeting location is at Trident Education Center at 1800 W Ball Road, Anaheim CA, 92801.
- You will be required to complete a minimum of 5 hours/week of online and in person work.
- Students will receive an email from the instructor the week prior to the start of class with access instructions.
TEXTBOOK & SUPPLIES
The course textbook is published by CompTIA. The virtual lab environment will be utilized is a product of Practice Labs. Additional learning content is provided through Open Educational Resources (OER) learning content housed in a Canvas LMS.
